President's Message

To my fellow RNFA's:

If you are reading this then you truly want to know what is going on in the life of a fellow RN First Assistant.  I hope you read on and join us for our two yearly meetings, one in the fall and one in the spring.

This group has been of such a great value to me and continues to be so.  There are so many who have volunteered their time and energy to make our work lives so much better.  It starts with those who are willing to share what they have gone through and how they got through the struggles to those that are on the front lines of the legislative battles.  We sometimes forget that there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than just our day to day operating room functions.  It took leaders who were willing to make commitments to standardize our practice and lift up not only ourselves but the outcomes for our patients.

We are all tired of hearing how difficult it is right now.  It doesn't have to be in silence.  We can stay focused on changes around us and be a part of them.  We can lift our practices up by lifting each other up.  That truly is where our professionalism should start and where we shall work to have it remain.  Come hear how we are doing it!

Sincerely,
